EXTRA is a program that offers organized soccer for players who want to play at a more competitive level, a club like experience and still be a part of AYSO.

EXTRA is for athletes whose interests and abilities lead them to a more progressive soccer experience. You can feel secure knowing your child is part of a trusted organization and will be given fair playing time. EXTRA doesn’t take away from the regular program, but adds to the strength of the organization by keeping players and their families in AYSO.

AYSO Region 97 determines the organization of EXTRA play to suit the needs and numbers of our players, but AYSO’s core philosophies are still in place: everyone on the team plays at least 50 percent of each game; selection to teams is based on open and fair evaluations; and the teams are chosen to create a competitive balance.

An EXTRA player may not play on any other AYSO team during the same season, nor will they be eligible for All Star play.

'Players selected to the EXTRA Program will commit to their teams as their priority non-school activity. It is expected that every player attends each practice and game at the agreed upon times.

To satisfy the commitment required by the EXTRA Program, players may not be enrolled and participate in other Club or non-AYSO soccer programs during the EXTRA Program primary season.

Each EXTRA Team must provide have two volunteer coaches and volunteer two referees and earn sufficient referee points to participate in post-season play.

August 1, 2018 or later is not eligible for EXTRA.

Tryout Location and Details: Bonita Creek Park from Monday, January 12 – Thursday, January 15.

• The EXTRA try-out is free, and whether your child makes the team or not, is a great way to introduce your child to the EXTRA coaches, and the top skill and competitiveness level our region has to offer.
• Registration cost for the EXTRA season has not yet been finalized but will likely be around $300 per player.
• If you’re new to our EXTRA program you’ll also need a uniform, which will be an additional charge. More to come on pricing details for the uniform.

• AYSO EXTRA offers Club level soccer, but at a fraction of the cost; and within the family fun AYSO environment. The Spring & Fall EXTRA seasons run at the same time as the AYSO CORE program with 1-2 additional local weekend tournaments. All games are played on Saturdays with two practices per week during the season.
