R97 Girls 16U wins Section 11 Championship

Section 11 Championships were held on November 11 at Marty Russo Youth Athletic Park. Our Region was well represented by a team coached by Eric Rans. The team entered the tournament after finishing the regular season in 5th place with a record of 5 wins and 4 losses.

The team played three games in pool play, winning their pool with a record of 2-0-1, with 7 goals for and 1 goal against. They faced off against R54's Team Cerritos, coached by Hernandez Miguel for the championship match. The teams battled for opportunities to score, but ultimately the players from R97 scored the match winning goal and shut out Team Cerritos.
